Wow my heart goes out to some of you. There are some substantial losses being discussed here. I guess I'm lucky that the losses I've made on ESI, CTP, PVE (realised) and GGE (unrealised) this year have been offset by some nice rises in other stocks that I've held.

CTP taught me to really heavily research a company before buying. When I say research, I mean be really critical about every thing the company does and put it through a rigorous test to see if it is a 'sound investment' choice. I mean look at the PR of the company, look at the CEO's endeavour, look at things from outside the box, and don't believe the hype.

PVE taught me to not trade for a dead cat bounce.

ESI taught me to review a company's chart history to make sure it doesn't have a prior history of pump and dump type announcements.

GGE has taught me that some times you just have absolute rotten luck. But I'm still hanging out to hopefully hear that elusive oil strike on Monday once the flow rate testing has begun.
