I'm glad you had a look around the http://www.wsws.org/ you are not alone as it is the most widely read left wing site by a country mile, not only because of the international and revolutionary program but because the party actually intervenes into the worldwide class struggle. As Marx said "The philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways; the point, however, is to change it."
But you seem to have misunderstood some important points.

Under capitalism WW3 is a certainty but it arises from the contradictions contained within the capitalist system itself, (ie that between the world economy on the one hand, and its division into competing nation states on the other).
So, socialists don't have to agitate for war, it's baked into the capitalist cake. It's also baked into the cake that tens and hundreds of millions of workers will oppose the drive to war. Because let's face it WW3 is curtains for civilization and everyone knows it.
So capitalism will drive to war, millions will oppose it. The task of the revolutionary party is to become the leadership of the anti war movement and organize the working class to take power. ie turn the capitalist WW3 into a civil war to overthrow capitalism. Perfectly normal historical event, revolutions are normal and necessary when an old bankrupt system has no progressive way forward.
As for the army. Armies are a reflection of society eg the commanders and so on are like the capitalists, the lieutenants are like the middle class and the soldiers are like the working class. As society breaks down so does the army.
