There is no compulsory voting briter, only compulsory attendance at a polling booth. You can do whatever you like with your ballot paper.
Without compulsory attendance many would stay away that is true and that would make it much easier for those so inclined to stack the voting. We could even end up like the third world where often it is only those whom a candidate pays who attend and cast a vote.
