Radiolabeled Agents in Cancer Therapy (Part I)
Conclusion
Radioembolization is a locoregional therapy for HCC that relies on precise, intra-arterial administration of microspheres labeled with the radionuclide 90Y to tumor-bearing hepatic tissue. Radioembolization offers significant survival benefits to patients with intermediate- and advanced-stage HCC, whereas advanced dosimetry and administration techniques are expanding the potential for curative therapies.
