Here's a market overview of quantum...today, I'll cover the main ways in which you can build a quantum computer. 5 main modalities (plain english: how you make quantum bits (qubits))- SuperconductingLeader: This is where big tech are (IBM, Google, AWS)Best thing: wicked-fast gates- Ion TrapLeader: QuantinuumBest thing: quality qubits and quantum depth (they can run calculations)- Neutral AtomLeader: QuEraBest thing: quality qubits and laser arrays are scaling well- Optical/photonicLeader: PsiQuantumBest thing: like superconducting, we understand lasers well - Atoms in silicon Leader: yours truly, Silicon Quantum ComputingBest thing: quality qubits, algorithmic fidelity (ability to do computing)Not included in above modalities: - MSFT majorana (no-one knows if they're a thing quite yet, despite strenuous claims to the contrary)- Nitrogen Vacancy otherwise known as diamond defect (sounds cool)- Electrons floating on helium (also sounds cool)Why haven't I included the drawback of each?
