Hey Moondog, can you give us a proper analysis as to why some of these initiatives are/were a waste?
Zerogen - should the Govt not have invested in looking at clean coal technology? Or should they have continued?
Desal plant - ok I live in SEQ Qld so I have my finger on the pulse. At one stage during the drought we were down to less than 1-year's supply of water? Now if the Govt had done nothing & the drought continued, I guess you would be the first to complain about running out of water? What was the alternative when the decision had to be made at the point of no return?
Dams - local farmers & environmentalists were totally against Traveston Dam. The Qld Govt didnt pull the pin on the dam. The fed minister for the environment pulled the pin via the EIS due to some frogs & what not.
Health Payroll system - I agree a dogs breakfast but I would be a millionaire if I had a dollar for every IT project that has gone overbudget or not met the specs (ask CBA, NAB, UK NHS, govt departments everywhere, etc).
Lets have some informed debate for a change lol...
