Well I found this little fact sheet on the said technology.
Dont know whether to believe it or not, but it does come with references and would require some time to fully look into.

Leaves me feeling sceptical on the whole idea. I understand the coal industry is important to the economy of Queensland, but more important to me is how my State Government intends to invest my Tax dollars. They dont have a very good track record as it is, especially keeping it under budget. So here I am hoping they get it right for both the coal industry and Queenslanders as a whole.

Heck wouldn't UCG be a better option? Throw a few billion into that and reap some rewards.
