It has seemed very strange to me that the banks have been so lenient with extending DML's loans (not that I am complaining!) but why?

I would like to think that they see a rosy future for DML and are therefore happy to "lend a helping hand"...

Which made me think who (other than us long-suffering SH's) would want to see DML thrive and I reckon it might be the Botswana Government. I am sure they would like to see all the employment, infrastructure, export earnings, customer for local coal etc continue.

So maybe, just maybe they are giving the banks a bit of surety to tide us over this rough patch?

Just guessing - as there is nothing better to do :-)
