HUGE difference here @Mickman
- PET is china centric VS EVS is only 6% coming from china
- We still dont know if Zhang left PET to protect himself or if he was pushed
- EVS doesn't operate the same way PET does and is wholly owned and overseen by it's Australian management
- EVS absolutely blows PET out of the water with its communication and management style, look no further than today's announcement - they heard rumblings from shareholders and they found a way to address them e.g. tell me the last time PET considered shareholders grumbles and didn't do their best to ignore them?
- EVS has 75% recurring income and a highly skilled team in the backend that supports its products backed by long term contracts and local government policy that requires the monitoring ongoing, where PET is an extremely simple to manufacture industrial product that's only saving grace is a patent that china may or may not respect and recurring income there is not supported by similar ongoing contracts, nor is it difficult to have a change of heart on using PET and recurring there is a much larger cost base given it needs further application of product/distribution
- EVS has a large respected diversified customer base with institutional oversight, where PET predominately has Chinese local authorities as customers and one of their largest investors is known for shorting the market
I hold both with a much larger interest in EVS for the above reasons and more, so I would love to see them both succeed but to call out EVS as anything remotely in the same bucket as PET is a little short sighted in my opinion, no offence intended.
p.s. even if it turns out ZZ was pushed out of PET and concerns of ethics around him come to the surface, then from what I have witnessed with EVS, it will find a way have him politely bow out so as to not burn any bridges and have a suitable replacement ready to go with a simultaneous announcement or close enough that it would be negligible... most definitely not the suspension or anything remotely close to the way PET has operated the past few months.
