Yes, we have and are producing zinc but we also have huge copper resources ready to munch through if/when the time is right. Unlike zinc, copper has a more sustained level of growth. Zinc, unfortunately is boom/bust, it's fantastic for producers when it is boom!
Anyway, this report is worth reading for zinc and copper enthusiasts.

Personally, I can't see the deficit going that deep with zinc as there is a relative abundance. Copper, on the other hand...
