Wow David,you've crammed a lot of issues into that post,I dont really follow,but to address the title of your thread,the commodities you mention are used in vast amounts every day,and there are at anytime stockpiles of varying sizes,and interference by commodities traders,but in general,when even a sniff of a supply interuption,be it real or percieved,those commodities skyrocket,as happened with nickel this week.Tells me that on balance there is huge demand and short supply,which will continue for a long time yet.Also the spot market in uranium,a recent invention,is not a real comparison for any commodity,most U is sold in long term contracts at around $90.No large consumers of U want to be caught without supply,they dont buy on the spot market,which is why it is trading so cheaply,but as I said one sniff of supply interuption,off she goes... cheers
