Admiral Bay in the north west is a massive zinc deposit, although deep the study done by Kagara ( in admin ) showed it to be economic, 20km strike length thick and flat, amenable to sub level caving. Current resource is 72m tons but only a fraction of the 20km strike has been drilled. It was envisaged to be a 3 to 5 million ton per annum operation with a life in excess of 50 yrs once drilled out. it has been drilled at wide intervals over the entire strike, all holes intersected roughly the same grades and widths etc.
it's had a few hundred million spent on it over the years, was originally discovered by Meridian oil while drilling for hydrocarbons and subsequently purchased by Kagara, it was going to be the flagship mine until the GFC finished them off.
someone will end up with this giant and mine it when the conditions are right.
When the zinc price rises enough we will start to see those hidden stocks showing up.
