LME zinc prices fell sharply yesterday. Some reasoning is here: http://in.news.yahoo.com/20/20100312/372/tbs-zinc-falls-on-sluggish-spot-demand.html
The questions for me are
#1 - is this due unusual seasonal effects ("Lehman followed by Snowman?")
#2 - what are the suppliers doing to manage prices (LME inventories are reaching historic highs)? Or are they just hoping the inventories will be consumed after the snowman has left?
#3 - How will we recover from the recession in general?
Tough to find the right answers. Anybody have a better crystal ball? The actions of the players here tend to favor #1. In this case timing for the bids would have been perfect, before zinc price and CBH share price take off. A pokergame right now. Fun to be a part of this.
