Zinc TC/RC falls to $191 in tight marketA zinc miner and a smelter have agreed to a treatment and refining charge (TC/RC) of $191 per tonne this year based on a zinc price of $2,000 per tonne, sources at the International Zinc Association conference told AMM.The charge, which miners pay to smelters to process concentrate, is down from $229 per tonne based on a zinc price of $2,500 per tonne in 2011, reflecting a concern among market participants that the global supply of zinc concentrate will not meet demand, sources said."There’s going to be a deficit," one producer source told AMM.
