A 300$ treatment costs per tonne of zink sold at sub 2000$ per tonne was ridiculous and mainly due to shutdowns of polluting smelters in china over the last years due to environmental regulations. Once the newly built environmentally friendly smelters come online thanks to profit incentives due to unusually high Treatment costs imo TCs should come down substantiallly in 2021.
Also smelters should also share the hit taken by zink concentrate minera due to historically low zink prices. Smelters cant have their cake and eat it...they just cant charge 300$ per tonne on a 2000$ per tonne zink value...at these charges little incentive to supply zink by miners let alone expand production and better stockpile it / reduce output awaiting better days.
