It's utter stupidity for any companies to donate shareholder funds. Shareholders who care can give privately as much as they wish and those who don't care shouldn't have their company giving away eps. The virtue signalling is so transparent. Westpac is giving some paltry amount given their size, probably less than they made from dead customers in the last 2 years... I'd be more impressed if the executives were personally taking a pay cut to give....
Anyone who disagrees with me, I've decided to give half your income to the bushfire relief funds because I'm woke and compassionate.
