in my humble opinion, the only concerns that would face z1p holders are;
- take over offer, by who and at what price?
- management selling out, losing vision, entering a new space or area which debilitates the wider company ie cash flows, debt facilities etc.
- global recession of epic proportions (irrespective of the arguments for or against whether this would impact BNPL businesses)
- possibly coinciding with the recession, and for whatever other reasons, an enormous influx of bad debts / write offs
I appreciate there are many more exposures /concerns, however I feel these are the more likely events shorter term:
Based on my own macroeconomic assessments(property prices, interest rates and RBA decision making, covid, tax cuts, government incentives, political landscape changes etc), assessments of the current financial position of z1p, directors age, direction and their conviction etc etc, I think it's unlikely to see any of the above happen anytime soon.
I remember z1p was stagnating at the $1.20 mark for almost 12-16 months, spinning wheels with a lot of unhappy investors wondering why the SP wasn't moving. fast forward 12-18 months later and it's a 3-4 bagger for some. This is an easy hold for me, and no doubt the business will naturally run its course with growth being inevitable, even without having to change much in the way of new territories etc. with interest rates set to stay as is for the next 2-3 years, cheap debt and finance will continue to see explosive growth, be it via BNPL or other vehicles such as Wiser etc
Coupled with the impressive growth in the US and Europe, one can only imagine where the SP will be in the next 12-18 months. Never seen such an easier vehicle for making money than what the BNPL stocks have provided.... irrespective of who's the better one. All in my opinion and DYOR
