I’m sceptical that Q2 FY25 results will meet expectations. The “higher for longer” interest rate environment continues to pressure margins, and ZIP is losing market share in the US. To stay relevant in such a competitive space, they’ll likely have to sacrifice profitability. The Australian market is already saturated, so any growth there will be muted. With these factors in play, an EBITDA of $50m seems unrealistic—I’d expect a weaker outcome.
