ZIP owns or leases tech? 2G & 3G cut off?, page-10

Dunno about India Dub. Where I'm usually at, the young working and student demographic have or wish for smart phones in the cities where there is plenty of wireless and 3G coverage. Out in the boondoks under 2G - only the rich have smart phones and they couldn't care less about saving a peso or a rupee on a phone call.

The other issue is that my local telcos with PAYG internet connection, data is timed instead of being charged by the MB. Poor people use PAYG, not plans.

Hope India is different. Haven't been there for a long time, so open minded to anyone who opines some neutral observation.

Fortunately for ZIPT, smartphones are getting cheaper and cheaper by the month.
