What an utterly ghastly clip - this is not a comment on her corporate experience in general or anything like that, but if I had to design a person from the ground up who least represented Zip's customer base today, and importantly, their customer base tomorrow, it would be someone like her - and not because she's a woman or anything ridiculous like that, but because she's about 1,000 years old, has an old-school banking background (as opposed to forward-looking tech), likely has no experience in start-ups or scale-up businesses and could regale me with stories of 'the good ol' days' when they used those click-clack machine things to process a charge on your credit card. Half of that interview was sheer delusion. Disturbingly a picture is starting to form of the Three Amigos (LD, PG and DSG) all bouncing their complete lack of awareness off each other and just hoping that soon the numbers will be so good the market 'won't be able to ignore them anymore'.
She ought to be replaced with an American, roughly middle-aged, with a strong tech/start-up background. Sounds blunt but it's true. And while they're at it, if nothing major pops in the next 2 weeks they can put LD and PG on notice too.
