Hey mate. Good question, and to be honest, I'm not sure. Obviously Afterpay/Z1P would have to choose between Mastercard/Visa when deciding which payment processor to go with when providing this 'pay anywhere'/virtual card functionality. So perhaps when signing these agreements, there is some sort of profit-share of payment fees with Mastercard/Visa. Only speculation.
