"A limited amount of drilling was carried out at One Tree Point by Matilda Minerals Limited which has identified a large dunal deposit of 10 million tonnes containing approximately 1.6% heavy mineral. In the previous drilling some holes showed higher heavy mineral grades at the bottom of the holes. Matilda Zircon considers that this higher grade could indicate that a higher grade strand deposit such as currently being mined at Lethbridge exists on ancient beach lines below the dunes. If this is shown to be correct the average grade of the deposit could increase significantly. In August Matilda will drill this deposit to Indicated Resource level. If shown to be economic One Tree Point will be developed as the next mine after Lethbridge on the Tiwi Islands."
