Apparently all this nuclear waste is going to be stored around the nuclear reactors until a permanent storage location is found to also store waste from the subs. As the subs won't be delivered from 2040's & won't be decommissioned until the 2060's that's an awful long time potentially to have massive amounts of nuclear waste stored near communities.
Remember Australia still doesn't have a site or a plan to build a place to permanently store any nuclear waste, it's been trying to find one for decades.
