End of July Eskom held a meeting with regard to the purchase strategy for upgraded coal fines. They informed that they are going to carry out extensive product and combustion tests before purchasing any upgraded briquettes or pellets. This will take some time. As far as I know WEC is the only potential supplier who is already in a position to deliver noteworthy bulks of upgraded coal fines from all major south african mines via their Cessnock facility in Oz for testing. In 2-3 weeks a decision is going to be made for the 1st coal fines upgrading plant in Africa. If WEC gets green light this will lead to another 60 Mio $ cash injection according to the JV agreement with Blackriver.
There are thrilling days ahead :-) !
