The shock with covid-19 is how people & governments are responding. They are effectively shutting down the economy to a certain extent. That's why we're in a bear market / recession now. It's not so much the virus itself, it's the response to it. Once it passes (soon) the economies can start getting back on their feet again, especially the supply chains.
