The bulk billing comparison seems silly to me - you pay more for convenience and to get seen faster when you skip bulk billing, and see a local doc, or alternatively to buy your milk at a local milk bar rather than a big supermarket. Also you don't bother to do any research to save $30 in most cases.

This is a $4k diff maybe on a cycle - and out of pocket - the differences are more stark, (or maybe a $30k diff if you will have an extended program???) so worth researching for consumers. This is more like IBM getting assailed by IBM compatibles in the 80s and 90s, and not being able to charge what they wanted to any more. Margins on computers are now tight, and not 50% or whatever they were. But IBM could still sell the super special stuff at higher margin for a while longer, but their profits were eroded savagely all the same.

Anyway - certainly is lower risk in the SP now than there was on Monday - so we need to see what happens.
