Firstly the Sabbath is a Jewish teaching and not a Christian teaching.

Jesus redefined the Sabbath as not being a day for the cessation of work but being one of remembrance of God. Jesus did not change His behaviour on the Sabbath and allowed His own Disciples to gather grain on the Sabbath. He also said that a person was rightfully allowed to rescue one's sheep on a Sabbath, this has a more symbolic meaning, but still shows that the Jewish version of the Sabbath was no longer in play. So clearly the Jewish version of the Sabbath became something new under Jesus.

Jesus addressed Himself as the Sabbath and as Jesus existed every day of the week this meant that any day was just a good as another to worship God and give praise to Jesus.

As far as Genesis and Exodus are concerned, they are not Christian scripture. This belongs to the Jewish religion. The Christian Bible can only be found in the New Testament.
