Does Malaysia want Lynas?

I have been giving too much thought to the current situation in Malaysia or more specifically Kuantan. There has been much conjecture on how Fuziah is settling a personal vendetta by hindering Lynas at every step of the way to success. Those who remember, years ago Fuziah was insistent that Lynas needed to be shut down for radioactivity reasons in spite of IAEC analysis and approval...

Fast Forward a few years and it would appear that Fuziah is no longer interested in shutting down Lynas rather she is now she attacking Lynas a different issue (PDF)... Are these attacks politically motivated?

Here's the deal, we all have the potential to succeed big time by working together to solve legitimate problems but Malaysia is treating Lynas like a third class citizen. We face threats and defamation at the hands of Fuziah all the while paying taxes and more importantly contributing to the community both socially and economically.

True, Malaysia has been very successful for Lynas, but it may just be time to look elsewhere for future investments. If the Malaysian international business policy is to be set by Fuziah on her own then perhaps is time to move on and warn any other international investors about the perils of investing in Malaysia...

Does Malaysia really want Lynas around? That is the fundamental question and needs to be answered by Mahathir and his administration. The (unreasonable) challenges placed on Lynas as a startup will not go unnoticed by the international business community. That said it is quite possible that Malaysia doesn't want Lynas or their RE's... That's fine but Malaysia needs to inform Lynas that certain Australian RE companies are not welcome and Lynas can diversify assets appropriately...

It sounds like Malaysia is committed to a new transparent government built on honesty. From what I understand Mahathiris is very familiar with Lynas and it's business... Perhaps a nod of cooperation from Mahathir would go a long way to unit all players in achieving those goals... JMHO...
