I agree, however price tends to dictate demand, or visa versa so they are connected. Derivative exposure i.e being back to back rather than a position unless of course there is market failure& the counterparts where you thought you were hedged no longer exist. I remember trying to cover the hedging exposure when Gwalia fell over & the exposure blew out by about 20% du to everyone in the market covering the same thing & that was just one client albeit a big one falling over.
