Mr Gordon, whilst people in general wont see Christ's return with literal eyes as you point out, there is reason to believe Christ's anointed followers will . This is implied by the term 'manifestation', which means a display ,appearance, phenomenon or revelation.1 peter 1:7-9;'though you are not looking at him at present' suggests they will indeed look upon him when they receive the end of their faith at the revelation of Christ. That this will take place in the earthly realm and not in heaven stands to reason because Christ's glory is already manifest to the angels in heaven. Besides, why would Jesus need to reveal himself to those resurrected to heaven since they will also become immortal spirit creatures just like himself?. This begs the question, if the parousia began in 1914 , who is there that can say they have witnessed Christ's presence ? Has he appeared to any of the chosen ones? Hebrews 9:28 and Malachi 3:2 tell us that he will appear to these ones.
