    The operative word is "can" be different I reckon.

    I've never really thought religion vs spirituality through before.

    Perhaps religion is just a dogmatic, prescriptive path to try to achieve spirituality?

    I would think that many religions certainly set out to achieve that and by any assessment are found to be well short of that mark.

    Anyway, to get back on the debate topic, all religions appear to have their dogmas, and at this point in history, Islam or at least radical Islam would appear to be leading the pack. I can't see how anyone can be brutalised to spirituality, so I doubt spirituality is a core value for the ISIS dogma.
