30 years ago I remember them promising fusion power in 20-30 years ... need I say more?
Redrockgeo might have something to say on battery technology. I seem to remember that when modern electric cars were first promoted (also 30 years ago) that a geologist determined that there was not enough lead in the world to manufacture the lead acid batteries to convert all the cars in the world. Not sure about lithium.
