Hi Dylan,
You have an interesting perspective on such systems and it doesn't sound like you're attacking Xero directly, rather the method of cost efficient business practices. On a personal level I'm a fan of traditional methods it creates jobs, customer relationships, and a prosperous society. However the world is moving away from this type of business interaction because it's inefficient, provides little business feedback, and is prone to human error.
If you like around the world companies such as Amazon, Salesforce, Workday, and Rackspace are so successful because they are lowering the cost of doing business, which in an inverse way is helping small companies and entrepreneurs compete with the big ridged titan's of the world.
As far as the bunnies are concerned, all rivers pay homage to the ocean for it lies lowest.
