Best way to cure the reluctance of employers to put on permanent people would be to sort out the electricity supply and pricing. Get it back yo 4c /KWHr. Everyone I know is putting off people because power costs are rising uncontrollably. My bill is $1000 a day, about the same as a Coles shop. I would hire more people and buy more capital equipment if I knew power was in safe hands---- but it isnt.
