Mr Neilson is no dummy , that's for sure . I agree with what he says , as any sensible property investor should . Property outpacing inflation ? Good if it happens but who is going to base their investment case on that theory ?
Note he is not saying that property is a bad investment . " Billionaire investor Kerr Neilson says shares are at least as good a bet as the property market " .
Here's an interesting fact . When Platinum Asset Management listed , the placement was at $5 ( if you could get them ) , came on the market and peaked at $8.80 on the day . 12 months on they hit a low of $2.60 . OUCH !!.
Don't see that volatility with normal house prices .
