very old congressional regulation is the only thing stopping america from exporting oil...presently they have the ability to meet their own needs and export 4mbbl per day...
there have been MAJOR strides in us shale oil technology....good old us innovation and entrepreneurship...and, unlike here, not one cent of government assistance...shale oil producers in america are profitable over $10usd a barrel...
the unpalatable truth for STO is a massive oil glut already exists and will remain for many years....they must be very near or already in breach of loan covenants...imo, there is no way they can avoid a capital raising at a significant discount to friday's closing price
