Hi bz
I worded my earlier posts in this thread carefully because there was a specific point I wanted to make without it being seen as as inciting.
For a range of reasons, a small portion of young (mostly male) Muslims in Western and Muslim countries end up being radicalised.
In western countries it seems a significant portion of this small number of radicalised or radicalising cohort end up on police and/or terror watchlists, but mostly it ends there and next thing one of them has carried out an atrocity.
All I am saying given the seriousness and increasing frequency of these atrocities, is that if police and security operatives are able to identify this small cohort, what is the point of then doing nothing about it?
Imo, politicians and our legal system need to make a protocol of interventions possible. That's why I suggested compulsory routine counselling, continuing well into their mid 30's if necessary. It makes it clear they are under surveillance for their own anti-social, latently criminal actions. That way it is clear they own the circumstances of the country's proactive intervention.
