Cheers. If they had a product that could sort out dermal scarring I'd buy it. I think thats more stem cell stuff though.

Just wish I had more spare cash to get a few more shares actually.

@gizard. Before I had heard about recell none of the surgeons I contacted had heard of it.But this is from 2003+.

More recently I recall only 2 surgeons in total out of many that knew about recell but did not practise with it. If I remember correctly one was waiting for further evidence before they would consider using it (but was sceptical). The other referred me to someone who did(but also sounded sceptical). Both in Australia. The rest had never heard of it or anything like it and some even warned me against doctors who might promise me results but I wouldnt actually get any benefit other than a huge bill (obviously from the docs that had never heard of it). Its important to note that I was enquiring about a specific problem.

I had contacted doctors in Ireland, England, Germany, Switzerland,America and Australia in my journeys. Also Vitiligo specialists as its a similar condition.
After discovering recell it became easier as Avita simply provided me with a list. However it was up to me to go digging so it certainly appears like its not common knowledge...yet but its slowly getting recognized. More so recently. My GP would have no idea about its existence thats for sure. Im interested to know how they market it.

As for costs. The cost is mostly from the procedure itself. Recell adds about another 1000GBP on top I beleive. Prices varied from 3000-5000GBP give or take a few in the UK. In Australia its up to $10,000. This is the cosmetic industry after all. People will pay whatever is required to fix their problems.
Recell must be combined with a procedure to remove the layers of skin before it is applied. This includes dermabrasion, numerous types of lasers (fully ablative and fractionally ablative), needling etc. Lasers cost alot so the that cost is passed on to the patient imho.
I opted for general anaesthetic (not necessary but i didnt want the new cells to be lost from sweat under local) and dermabrasion as this seemed to be what the most of the clinical trial patients had. It looks like the FDA trials will do the same. My surgeon was Dr Jeremy Rawlins.
