I had a small insight this morning, out walking, or at least I was able to articulate to myself and I'll try to put it into words here.
The reason that the sp is where it is, in the range 35c to 55c as suggested by a recent broker report, is that without announcements like we got today the sp would be under 20c - recently announcements of specials have declined and the sp with it and today's announcement was desperately needed - hence the crowing, back slapping, congratulations all round on HC, as high tension was released. Anyway, without such finds LOM would be unable to continue without constant capital raises way beyond current shareholders' capacity to fund. Even so the sp cannot rise on this sort of headline grabbing news because shareholders will never see any return from it, all free cash generated will be spent on further exploration - ONLY the successful finding (and proving) of a commercial kimberlite will do the job.
Am I sorry that I sold half my holding, which was too high in the first place? No, in a word; the sp despite today's news is still lower than my sell, but that's irrelevant, I'm now comfortable holding.
It is essential that there is early success when the two big rigs finally get to work, or we will see further declines in the sp, IMO.
