Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates -> Both very successful. My daughter went to school in Kazakhstan at 3 years old. Learnt Maths, English, Russian, French 5 days a week from 8:30 to 5pm. Best Skiing, Great Food, very progressive. Internet speeds 10 times what we get here at 20% of the price. 10% tax rate for expats, 15% tax for locals. Mobile Data 20Gb per month on 3G/4G for $8 per month. Taxis 50c to 3-4 km. Maybe $4 to go from say Perth to Airport. Most of my Kazak / Muslim friends loved a drink and shared many beers and vodka's together. They love kids and we had a very lovely muslim lady bady sitting our 1 and 4 year old daughters.
United Arab Emirates -> Medical tourism, very modern, very safe, cheap and great food. Same as Kazakhstan except warmer. Great shopping. Fantastic hotels. Great internet and data plans. Amazing freeways and road systems. Both have big Oil and Gas industris.
I'd say Australia is actually doing quite poorly and even with the head start and all the resources we have - we are starting to lag. Some of you people need to travel and live overseas as your viewpoints are really narrow and totally mininformed...
I've also live China, Mongolia and Papua New Guinea and not much you read in the Australian media is accurate of China either.
