Three months ago many of those sources were advising caution and some were advising to sell out of stocks and go long in gold or hold cash.

That these same sources have now come out and declared the market "oversold" and now be advising to carefully buy good stock is significant in that it indicates they are not bullish tragics who walk around with blinkers but rather are analysing the market and economy critically and will call it as the information they have to hand indicates it.

I am not suggesting the economic outlook is as bright as it seemed when the ASX was sitting around 20% higher than it is now - just that the market has fallen by a greater degree than the economic outlook justifies - and therefore stock prices are relatively cheaper than back then.
