Fair enough - but in a commercial negotiation you leave yourself in a weak position if you've already done the work for the other party. I don't buy the "key terms" agreed because unless there is a binding agreement the goal posts can always be shifted. The ramifications of this deal not going ahead are much more significant for TV2 than Indosat, so it leaves them open to put over a barrel. I assume it has happened this way because TV2 has been so desperate to do the deal with Indosat in the first place which is understandable, but that doesn't mitigate the risk of TV2 ending up with very unfavourable terms because they didn't adequately protect their interests. This is a pretty basic commercial concept which Nick, while clearly being a great deal maker, imo hasn't really shown he is adept at managing.
