"I know I have to trade the market"

When did it become compulsory ?

"hard to act on what the charts are saying."

A chart has never said anything to me. I can look at a chart for hours and it just sits there in stunned silence. It's not as though I haven't tried to strike up a conversation. Many times I've said 'Listem here chart, I know what happenned in the past, tell me what the prices are going to be tomorrow'. Not a word from chart.

"The dramatic fall in the financials was obvious"

Everything is obvious in retrospect. Problem is that the market does not pay off on retrosepctive zero-risk. The market pays off on prospective risk. A fact which can be attested to by many Australians who were buying WPL at $8, WOW at $2, BHP at $6, CBA at $5, CSL at $10 ... etc ... not that long ago.

"if only we had believed the signals in the charts"

If only people had the brains to participate in the wealth of the nation through equities.

    "I wasn't fully prepared"

It takes a while to acquire the skills necessary to succeed in this caper. Until such time you would be advised to stick to your day job and let professionals manage your money. They can be relied upon to do what you have been unable to do. Acquire assets on your behalf.

    "disbelief"

As Goblin, Hotcopper's Elite Gols Shield Poster would have said 'Friggin, unbelievable'
