Interesting take. My wife who had never heard about this company before came to the meeting with me today and said that Jackie and the Chairman came across as petulant children. She likened Jackie to the CEO of Pied Piper in the TV show Silicon Valley......basically the brains behind the idea but an absolute terrible CEO in respect to commercialisation of the business. I thought that was hilarious.
Personally I think you're absolutely wrong. Biotech stocks have many binary equations such as "trial successful = yes/no". So when large-windowed timelines slip and the company doesn't update the market, one needs to know if the chances of a binary equation are becoming less likely. They must answer WHY the timeline has slipped....including what is the delay.
In respect to the chairmans view that perhaps many investors are not suited to bio-tech investments, what an absolute fool. I will happily wait 10 years for commercialisation, as will most others. However when a year-long deadline is missed with no information as to THE WHY, this is the reason shareholders repeatedly demand better communication.
In its objectives the company has performed fairly well, so you must ask the question as to why so many shareholders are frustrated. Quite frankly this is the fault of the company and they should admit as much, instead of being so arrogant and dismissive of the frustration in the room.
