They're not inserting poo into their "private regions" but rather vaginal fluid from a healthy donor. I personally think this is a step in the right direction. Allopathic medicine is finally catching up to how important the microbiome is. (Allopathic doctors have done nothing but literally worsen my gut health, whereas "alternative" medicine has been a step in the right direction). I know a bit about this side of things as I have gut problems associated with dysbiosis, likely caused in my opinion by terrible GP's handing me antibiotics when they were absolutely not needed. It was only when I was much older that I became aware of how deleterious they can be to our health.

As I mentioned I think this research is definitely a step in the right direction, however I do not see it as a risk factor for Vivagel. I know a little about faecal transplants having researched them myself. Despite some great results, there is still not enough known about the microbiome in order to determine the "ultimate" donor. Lots more research is needed. Given that the first successful microbiota transplant was performed in 1958, look how long it has taken us to get where we are with this procedure, which can yield miraculous results. I suspect we will see similar success with vaginal microbiota transplants, however as another poster mentioned they are likely to be expensive (you wouldn't believe what people are charged for faecal transplants!) and the timeframe for researching and implementing such a treatment protocol is likely to be so far down the track that Vivagel won't be protected by patents anymore, and it will also be a small (I still have hope!) part of SPL's massive revenue streams.
