Every participant in the market has the same opportunity to place an order towards the end of the ~10minute closing auction. It’s the same process every trading day.
The 2675 shares which crossed the spread and moved the closing price from 1.16 to 1.125 was placed at 16:09:17. That’s a full minute and 16 seconds before it uncrossed. Ie. a literal eternity in algo trading.
No one, algo nor human, came in to pick up the ‘bargain’ on offer. That should tell you more than the price it closed at.
