General comments/chat, page-12703

I have to share this with my fellow Andromedarians.....

I have told my 6yo son that I have bought him and his sister some shares in a few companies (ADN and others). In trying to explain to a 6yo what a share is, I said that he and his sister now own part of a company that is going to help people make some really cool stuff in the years ahead. My son was absolutely chuffed that he 'owned' part of a mining company. Every day he asks me, "how did my shares go today dad?" (I only explain to him that they are either green, red or no change).......so today when I picked him up from school, I said to him that today was an amazing day for his shares and that their shares had lots and lots of green which was really good. 'Did I have any red?' he asked....just one, but the others were a much higher green so it doesn't matter too much at the moment.

He was so excited that his shares were 'green' that he told me that he would now be able to buy his friends some lego and that they can all come over and play to build lego vehicles..........When I told him that the boss of the company (JM) gave a very important presentation today on what the company can do in the future with some of the developing technology, he was ecstatic! ........His response was, well, how much lego can I buy when I get my shares?............The look on his face was priceless.......I said to him.....mate, by the time you get your shares you can buy the whole lego shop.
