Greetings @Novac mate seriously thanks for your kind words, I have been hesitant to post thinking I may be a bit below the bar but figured when my line of things reared its head felt a real need to.

Lets take a revamp at mentioned recently completed project, but if I may firstly digress with a brief description re muti storey formwork.

So footings and groundslabs are in - you then set up a grid pattern of metal frames with timber and ply as the supporting finished table, place the reo, place the conc and finish, thats it in a nutshell. Lets briefly look at the formwork.

Imagine your local large shopping centre underground carpark with steel posts in a grid patterns 1200mm in both directions and I want you to carry a 6m length of pipe from A to B...no can do.

But after say 28 days we begin to strip out these frames and "back prop" at say 2m centres for the next 14 days, said task is easier no?
Not only that concurrent trade tasks can happen at the same time, win, win , win.

Lets begin to drag that timeframe back a few days, less time hiring forms, less site supervision, less time for cranes on site, subbies on site quicker, reduced time for Alimack (external temp lifts) on site and the list goes on and on and on.

Snapshot in real time - 15 storey, 60 unit complex, circa 600m2/floor.

Footings, pile caps, piles, car parking etc etc - 750m3
    Podium level- 600m3
    15 floors - 600m2 x 150mm floor 2700m3
15 floors off tilt panels 900m3

Gives us say 4,950m3 @ $7.50 per kilo (allows conc plant mark up) = $37,125 - not a bad chunk off the $500k potential?
Mate I sincerely hope that provides a snapshot of where things can go.

I have dragged a senior Project Manager and a QS colleague to mine as we are guests today of the big boy running in the 6th, gobsmacked and bewildered would be a good start- both left my office just now to in their words "have a chat with some people"

Apologies all am rushing a bit as leaving in 5, transport is waiting, have no fear @madfish01 staying fully hydrated with the black fish, reckon its about 32c with a bit of humidity, track will be rock hard.

    The good stuff

Lastly and funnily 13th, williams11 - big Panny was bought for $600 a while ago and being trained down south, by that I mean anywhere south of Townsville, trainer texted the mob with words to the effect, **&^% take this donkey back its terrible, so he was bought back up to the Tablelands. Anyways our punting group whacked $50 each on the nose at 35s in the first of those 6 wins and let it ride for every win until the last win which by the way was the Cairns Cup, think the previous trainer may have been sent a few pics from in the Casino about 1sh just prior to the group being asked to vacate.

Once again all thanks for you kind words, you know I made a rough list this morning of my thoughts on the skill set of the contributors to this forum and I bet a bunch waiting in the back ground - You know what I reckon we have more than a few bases covered.

Cheers to all stay safe. FNQ out
