Friday 26th March was a quiet day for the shorters with only 21,675 share sold short on that day.
Latest figures from ASIC show 8,578,768 shares in aggregate sold short as at 23 March. Given another 3,610,526 were sold short from 24 to 26 March (as per ASX Daily Short Sales), means there would be 12,189,184 sold short in total as at 26 March.
Of greater concern is the Shares borrowed figure which shows 21,606,311 as at 24 March. If you assume none have been covered that means they still have just over 9.4 million shares available to sell short.
With around 12 million shares to cover, now would be a good time for announcing a 50k tpa BOA.
