If anybody wanted to get serious about fixing the climate problem they would plant more trees.
Carbon capture is just as much a political leverage tool as it is ESG, but if they are going to pay us millions to be that tool then sure.
If on the other hand they make breakthroughs in the tech and scale it accordingly then it’s a win win for the pocket and the climate.
They can convert the stored carbon to methanol, to answer the latter part of your statement.
